Middle school students raise money for local animal shelters

Students at Crestview Middle School in the Rockwood School District went the extra mile to help animal shelters in our community.

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Students at Crestview Middle School in the Rockwood School District went the extra mile to help animal shelters in our community.

Sixth-graders at the school sold footballs to raise money for local animal rescues. The students went door-to-door, making their pitch to raise money. They also collected blankets and toys for the animals.

The students raised more than $700 for the animal rescues.
